Make it stand out

Preparing the Space

Making sure your property is ready for photography is extremely important for both the look of the final images as well as the flow of the shoot. Most sessions are scheduled to be from 30-45 minutes, so it’s imperative that these items are addressed prior to the appointment as completely as possible.

INTERIOR:

  • Declutter and remove personal items such as family photos, excessive decorations, and branded collectables

  • Tidy up all rooms, including floors, countertops, and furniture surfaces.

  • Dust and wipe down all surfaces, vacuum or sweep floors to ensure they are free of dirt and debris.

  • Arrange pillows, cushions, and throws to enhance the visual appeal of sofas and chairs.

  • Ensure all light bulbs are working and all lamps are plugged in.

  • Adjust blinds and window shades where you would like them – we will not adjust them. We recommend blinds down and open, and shades open.

  • Hide cables and cords from electronics and appliances as much as possible.

  • Remove pets from the premises during the photography session.

EXTERIOR:

  • Clean the exterior of the house, including windows, doors, and walls.

  • Remove any visible signs of trash or clutter from the yard.

  • Trim and maintain the lawn, hedges, and trees for a neat appearance.

  • Please remove vehicles from the driveway and front of the house. If the property is directly in front of a street/sidewalk, please try to maintain clear parking space on the street in front to ensure space for exterior photography.

  • Store outdoor equipment, toys, and personal items out of sight.

  • Sweep or hose down the driveway, walkways, and patio areas.

KITCHEN:

  • Clear off countertops, removing small appliances and kitchen utensils. Your hypersonic AI powered banana slicer appliance is cool but we don’t necessarily need to see it.

  • Clean all kitchen appliances, including the oven, stovetop, microwave, and refrigerator.

  • Wipe down cabinets, ensuring they are free of fingerprints and smudges.

  • Remove any magnets or personal items from the refrigerator.

ROOMS:

  • Make beds and ensure bedding and pillows are neat and well arranged.

  • Remove personal items from nightstands and dressers.

  • Arrange furniture in a visually appealing manner.

  • Remove any visible signs of pets, including food bowls and litter boxes.

  • We typically do not photograph closets unless they are large walk-in closets to be featured. If closets are to be photographed, please ensure they are neatly arranged and decluttered as much as possible.
